Description:
Key Responsibilities and activities Working with the Business Manager play a leading role in the overall business support of the Cancer Alliance. Enhance SWAG Cancer Alliance patient experience and outcomes by helping to deliver efficient and responsive business management. Contribute to service planning and development including the preparation of business case and plans. Effective communication and stakeholder management with a range of organisations and individuals, drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and activities.
Work with the senior management team, NHS England Regional Assurance Team and the National Cancer Programme Team to ensure the objectives of the Long-Term Plan for Cancer are achieved through strong business support activities. Assist with the planning and assurance/reporting processes. Proactively devise and provide improvements to current management information, analysing, reporting, and suggesting procedures to enhance decision making processes. Support development and implementation of the communications plan including annual reports and newsletters.
Develop, implement and maintain departmental policies and guidelines. Skills/Experience Knowledge and proven track record of health service management, including business management and communications (essential). Knowledge and experience of the national context and strategy for cancer (desirable). Good information management and IT skills, including common software packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, design software Canva) (essential).
Experience of project management including key stakeholder engagement (essential). Experience with finance systems and budget management including procedures for procurement and for invoicing (essential). Management experience, including experience of staff training, staff supervision, sickness management, appraisal, prioritisation, and allocation of workload (essential) Excellent planning and organisational skills to enable the post-holder to complete own workload in an efficient and effective manner; to delegate work as required and to make adjustments to people and processes where necessary; and to ensure that the resources within the department are used effectively to ensure delivery of service that meets user needs (essential
