SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE:

Essential - proficient experience in Microsoft applications e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Essential - excellent planning and organisational skills within a complex environment, including diary management.
Essential – ability to prepare and produce clear and concise communications for distribution to staff and clients, as necessary.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

Support the Business Support and Corporate Governance Manager in maintaining the sound corporate governance infrastructure of ASW Assurance and ensuring the delivery of the business support, corporate governance and training and development needs of ASW Assurance are met.
Provide a full and efficient business support service to the SMT, ensuring that all correspondence/reports/papers are professionally and accurately presented, and are in line with ASW Assurance branding requirements at all times.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

ASW Assurance provides internal audit, consultancy and counter fraud services to a wide range of NHS and other healthcare providers across the South West and wider afield.
ASW Assurance has a complex governance structure, employing circa 40 staff from four different host organisations with an overarching Consortium Board (CB) made up of client Directors of Finance and other Directors responsible for internal audit and counter fraud.
Business support and corporate governance functions have to be in line with each host Trust’s key employment and governance policies.

RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Work with the Assistant Directors of Audit and Assurance, Senior Audit and Assurance Managers, Counter Fraud Manager and the Business Support and Corporate Governance Manager to ensure that Audit Committee papers are prepared and ready for submission in a timely and professional manner, ensuring these are in line with ASW Assurance branding requirements.
  • Work with the Business Assistant to ensure agreed recommendations are taken from all final audit and counter fraud reports and added to the ASW Assurance database, to ease the production of Audit Committee papers for all clients.
  • Provide the SMT with a high quality personal assistant service including, but not limited to, diary management, minute taking of SMT meetings, and producing reports and presentations, often of a confidential nature, using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, ensuring all documentation is formatted in line with ASW Assurance branding requirements.
