About the OPPORTUNITY
We have multiple opportunities to work on the upgrade of Royal Australian Navy ships, in a program of national importance, based in Adelaide (Osborne Naval Shipyard). This program is critical to maintaining Australia’s maritime capability over the next decade.
This fast paced, agile and innovative work includes key capability upgrades such combat systems and missiles, as well as platform systems upgrades and key sustainment activities.
As a Business Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and working collaboratively with the project team and assisting with other Departments and Stakeholders as required. This role reports into our Production Project Lead who is responsible for overseeing the functional management of the Operations Administration group and ensuring that the team provides consistent support across multiple areas of the business to ensure production demands are met.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working. This role will be based out of our Osborne Shipyard office in South Australia.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate meetings, inclusive of meeting logistics, catering, minute taking, recording actions and maintaining meeting agendas
- Arrange domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodation, visit requirements and transport as required
- Organise and support business events, provide customer service, escort and supervise visitors within secured areas
- Raise purchase orders, process payment of invoices and reconcile credit card expenses in line with company policy
- Order office supplies, consumables and stationery as required
- Collate data and contribute to the development of reports, bids, contracts, manuals, presentations and correspondence as required
- Prepare correspondence on behalf of manager and/ or team leads
- Escorting and supervising visitors and providing customer service
- Covering periods of leave for other administrators within the Function when required
- Other administrative support to the Operations team
- Ad hoc tasks as requested
