The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Business Support Officer to provide a critical role within the Koori Justice Unit.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, KJU, the Business Support Officer will provide quality assurance and lead day to day administration and corporate support functions across all work streams in the KJU including information and file management, briefing and correspondence, event management, maintenance of mailing and contact lists and the Burra Lotjpa Dunguludja website.
THIS IS A PRIORITISED ROLE FOR ABORIGINAL AND/OR TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER PEOPLES, WHO WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY CONSIDERATION AS PER THE SPECIAL MEASURES PROVISION OF THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ACT 2010.
Some of your duties will include:
- Support the preparation and lodgement of executive and ministerial briefings and correspondence.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and briefings including electronic document management, process management and workflows.
- Provide support as required to the branch executives through diary, email management and corporate travel management

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community and the issues impacting on it.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
- Developed organisational skills with the capacity to meet timelines, attention to detail, cooperative working approach within a team environment and able to balance competing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of Victorian government administrative processes
