The Court and Justice Services (CJS) Division provides a wide range of resolution and court services for people involved in legal disputes. In collaboration with the courts of Alberta, Court and Justice Services provides various programs and services including educating and helping Albertans finding solutions for legal issues, navigating the court system, offering programs at no cost or a nominal charge, and administrative support to all courts in Alberta.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: University graduation in a related field (e.g. Business Administration/Management, Social Sciences, etc.) plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED AS RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in government or a large/complex organization.Experience working in business/office administration and/or business services.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

As the Business Support Officer, under the direction of the Manager of Strategic Operations and Divisional Initiatives (SODI), you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the excellence of court operations. This pivotal role is perfect for someone who excels in engaging both internal and external stakeholders, driving change, and responding to both the short-term and long-term business support needs of CJS.
YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:
- Providing forms and violation ticket management for the division, including inventory control, coordination of new and updated form and ticket content, issues management, stakeholder communication, and coordination with external vendors.
- Coordinating and supporting the planning and prioritization of accommodation, infrastructure and facility needs for CJS.
- Supporting emergency management and related issues (business continuity, workplace health and safety, etc.) for CJS, including coordinating updates to policy and protocol documents.
- Liaising with diverse stakeholder groups, including the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, contractors, senior leaders in CJS, and external organizations.
- Providing centralized procurement and contract management support for CJS, including monitoring and tracking procurement projects, and providing support to business areas to ensure successful and timely contracting that meets Government of Alberta (GoA) best practices.
- Supporting and coordinating work on divisional policies and programs as needed.
