Description:

DELIVERING FOR THE FUTURE, NOW

Help us deliver our ambition to maintain an Oxfordshire refugee and asylum migration system that ensures a warm welcome for all new arrivals and embraces integration, whilst supporting independent living for those staying in the county.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer to join the Migration Team in the Public Health and Communities Directorate, a Directorate working to improve health outcomes and address inequalities across the county. If you’re looking for a fresh challenge in a dynamic working environment, working collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external partners, then this role may be just the role for you.
Do you have excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail, as well as a focus on continuous improvement? Are you able to combine these skills with an ability to adapt and change direction when necessary? And can you do all of this whilst maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships with colleagues at a range of different levels and across different stakeholders and organisations?
You will be part of an ‘always learning’ team striving to be the best we can be with a strong focus on being creative to keep track of programme activity and to move things forward in a constructive and supportive way.

Responsibilities:

The role is available as a secondment or fixed term contract, available for either internal or external candidates.
Oxfordshire communities have shown incredible generosity and compassion in welcoming Ukrainian guests into their homes. The County Council has a vital role in delivering support for hosts and guests and in ensuring their ongoing wellbeing. In addition, the council and its partners have a range of duties towards those seeking sanctuary in Oxfordshire. Our team is responsible for supporting the whole-system partnership response and in developing our policy and delivery framework in this area. It is also responsible for delivering the County Council’s ambition to become a Council of Sanctuary and the delivery of the action plan for this.
The key aim of this role is to support the management of the transition of the programme from a primary focus on a single resettlement scheme (Homes for Ukraine) to a broader programme of activity that supports all the resettlement needs across the county.
Whilst knowledge of the subject area is a bonus, the primary attributes we are looking for in the successful candidates are an ability to support this broad programme in an efficient and effective way, whilst responding to new challenges as they arise. An adaptable approach is important, as is a passion for delivery and making a difference to people’s lives, often those who are most vulnerable.
