We are the Business and Digital Systems Service and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, full-time, permanent Business Support Officer to work within the Education and Targeted Systems side of the team. Our main responsibilities are to maintain the case management systems on behalf of our customers and liase between our suppliers and our ITDS service teams across Cambridgeshire County Council.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will work as first line support, anticipating and resolving issues, prioritising competing demands and successfully supporting the operational teams to deliver their responsibilities. We are also responsible for statutory returns for the schools including school census return and KS1 data collections.
The ideal candidate should have a good IT background, be familiar with Microsoft 365 applications, such as Teams and be willing to learn new systems as we are about to procure a new Education system, so will be working closely with Childrens Social Care.
This position is full-time at 37 hours per week, with flexible working hours between 08:00 am to 17:00pm, Monday to Friday. The base will be New Shire Hall, Alconbury Weald. Cambridgeshire County Council offers hybrid working to provide staff with the flexibility to work in the office and from home after completing initial training and induction.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Systems Support Officer for the Business and Digital Systems teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support to internal and external customers via telephone or out helpdesk call logging system, or other communication channels.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Offering high-quality administrative support, proposing creative solutions to operational challenges.
  • Coordinating and supporting ongoing projects to contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain consistency and excellence in our practices.
  • Updating and maintain information using Microsoft 365 applications

About you

  • Require good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Flexible and able to embrace change and support new ways of working.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Proactive in learning and personal development.
  • Able to travel to and work within Cambridgeshire County Council offices.
  • Creative problem solver with good decision-making skills.
