The Business Unit Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and profitability of our business division by developing and executing strategic business plans, managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and optimizing internal and external operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and experience in business and financial analysis.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement business and sales strategies to drive competitive advantage, growth, and profitability. Conduct profitability analyses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Sales and Account Management: Generate new business leads, build and maintain client relationships, and secure new business through proposals and presentations. Oversee sales targets, pricing adjustments, contract management, and market intelligence gathering.
- Operations Management: Lead daily operations focused on quality, safety, and efficiency improvements. Ensure policies align with client SLAs and KPIs, addressing issues proactively.
- Supplier Management: Manage supplier relationships to ensure efficient, reliable, and cost-effective service delivery. Build sustainable partnerships.
- Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams in operations, finance, and marketing for smooth project execution and oversee divisional staff.
- Financial Management: Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for informed decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualification in Supply Chain Management or similar.
- Proven track record in business management, sales, and account management, within the freight forwarding industry.
- Strong analytical abilities with experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for building lasting client relationships.
- Leadership and people management experience.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
- High attention to detail, ensuring accurate costing and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address operational challenges and improve processes.
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively with diverse teams.
