EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Honours University Degree in Business, Procurement, or related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Office Skills.
  • Procurement Experience (or relevant Business experience).
  • Working knowledge SAP, Sap BI / BW experience, Salesforce.com an advantage.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a buyer you will be responsible for acquiring goods and services on behalf of an organisation. Your key tasks will include sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, evaluating bids, and ensuring the organisation obtains necessary resources at the best value. Buyers collaborate closely with suppliers to establish favorable terms, monitor market trends, and optimise the procurement process. It’s a crucial role in driving profitability and advancing organisational objectives.
The ideal candidate for this role should be based in Naas, Ireland, and will follow a hybrid working pattern. They will have responsibilities across various plants in Europe and should be willing to travel approximately once a month for two days.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibility for spend within the assigned categories.
  • Develop global strategies for the assigned categories with guidance from the Category Manager.
  • Ensure the global strategies support the greater Kerry business agenda.
  • Coordination of these strategies across the Regions and internal business unit.
  • Custody of data validity and reporting within their categories.
  • Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Supplier and material strategy development.
  • Oversee supplier quality assurance for their category.
  • Ensure supplier compliance for required standards of business (Supplier Quality, Insurance, SEDEX, etc).
  • Participate in & run negotiations.
  • Working Capital Management.
  • Design through to deploy for savings projects, supplier initiatives, category strategy.
  • Supplier Benchmarking.
  • E-Tendering.
  • Supplier workshops (Savings and New Product Development).
