Role:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a purchasing/supply chain role, or alternatively plant/production knowledge experience. The Buyer’s first priority will be the purchasing of ingredients and packaging items to meet production schedule requirements. Second to this will be to manage MRO supplies required by operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College or University education in Supply Chain or Business is highly desirable but not required.
  • Completion or Enrollment in Supply Chain Management courses would be an asset.
  • Previous Purchasing strongly desired.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be agile and willing to react quickly to trouble shoot issues.
  • Strong communication skills both spoken and written are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine daily, weekly, monthly usages of ingredients and packaging supplies and create purchase orders using MRP system.
  • Accurately follows all company purchasing policy requirements with clarity, accuracy and completeness, from purchase order creation and throughout the accounts payables process.
  • Manage existing vendor relationships by monitoring, controlling, analyzing and optimizing inventory and consumption of supplies.
  • Expediting and follow up on orders ensuring materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates, and able to resolve situations such as delivery timing conflicts.
  • Participates with Production Schedule process and stakeholders, updates all committed shipments and ETA’s with direct team and shared stakeholders
  • Supports inventory (on site, third party) logistics management team and process as needed, communicates regularly regarding updates to usage, damage, launch and in-process relaunch activities with greater team perpetually
  • Provide regular updates to plant leadership and Manager (as requested) regarding backorders, aging reports, and liabilities.
