The Fruit People are expanding and looking for an experienced Buyer to join our growing team. You’ll play a crucial role in our Supply Team by ensuring timely procurement of fresh produce, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring product quality, all while managing supplier relationships.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Fresh Produce Procurement or similar area preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office in particular Microsoft Excel and experience with procurement or quality management tools.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and strategic thinking abilities.

• Analyse customer buying patterns to forecast future needs and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Procure products to meet stock targets and satisfy customer demand.
• Process and manage purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy in pricing and quantity.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues like delivery delays or pricing discrepancies.
• Monitor competitor pricing and quality to ensure we offer the best value.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases and delivery information.
• Work closely with the warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
