Our purchasing team in Ville St-Laurent (Montreal) is looking for new talent.

The incumbent will be responsible for the purchase of commercial parts and parts manufactured from technical drawings to support the spare parts sales department.

  • Perform all sourcing activities required to update and maintain the best prices at the best possible delivery time.
  • Responsible for vendor product quality and coordinates all matters regarding quality, design, specifications and manufacturability to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and compliance with Valmet Vendor Quality Assurance Program.
  • Maintain assigned Purchase Orders (PO) from the initial order through receipt and invoice processing.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Track deliveries scheduled to forecast inventory levels and respond by accelerating or delaying deliveries required.
  • Responsible to maintain and optimize inventory level.
  • Work with the design and engineering teams to find new materials required in the development of new products and submit to engineering department, new materials to reduce costs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A college’s degree in engineering technology (Mechanical, Industrial or Aerospace) or supply chain management with prior work experience in supply management and manufacturing purchasing.
  • Ability to analyze and read industrial drawings and blueprints of complex parts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (French and English).
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for management of full business processes ranging from planning and purchasing to sales and customer service would be considered as an asset.
  • Capability to resolve roadblocks and capacity to provide results when working under pressure.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work remotely with other Valmet location
  • Knowledge and experience of the pulp and paper industry would be considered an asset.
  • Willingness to rotate in other roles internally as your professional career unfolds.
