    Job Description
    Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Logistics, the Senior Buyer is responsible for the strategic coordination of direct material purchases for the company. Your role is to ensure that the necessary goods and services are obtained at the best price and quality conditions to support the company’s operations efficiently and profitably.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in purchasing management, business, engineering or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience. Significant professional experience in purchasing, with progression to higher management responsibilities.
  • Solid purchasing and negotiation experience, preferably in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
  • Advanced analytical skills to evaluate market data and supplier performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of purchasing and contract management tools and techniques.
    Software: Excel / ERP & MRP (3-5 years experience in level 1 ERP) Mandatory/ Outlook
    Languages required: French and English (spoken and written) (frequent contact outside Quebec)
    Other: Willingness to work flexible hours. Knowledge of electronics (BOM, PCB) is an asset.

  • Procurement strategy: Develop and deploy procurement strategies aligned with overall corporate objectives.
  • Sourcing: Identify, evaluate and select potential suppliers, while negotiating favorable purchasing terms and conditions.
  • Contract management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring that agreements are respected and risks are managed appropriately.
  • Cost optimization: Work to reduce procurement costs while maintaining or improving the quality of products and services.
  • Relationship management: Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and foster innovation.
  • Business intelligence: Monitor market trends, economic developments and new technologies to anticipate potential opportunities and threats.
  • Continuous improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement of procurement processes and propose initiatives to increase operational efficiency and added value.
