As a Cabin Steward at The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, a Belmond Train you are part of a team that team that crafts a truly memorable environment for all guests. REQUIREMENTS
- Several years’ experience in Hospitality at luxury level
- Experience in dealing with international customers
- Basic knowledge of reception, housekeeping and/or F&B service techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting operations (over 35kg)
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays
- Strong self-organization and time management skills
- Team player
- Travelling extensively across Europe
- European or Swiss passport
- Fluency in English and French, a basic comprehension of Italian a plus

Gastronomy is a major highlight of the onboard experience, with chef Jean Imbert celebrating seasonality and artisan produce in his exquisite menus, which are complemented by a wine list boasting Europe’s finest vintages and appellations. Three 1920s restaurant cars offer distinctly different ambiences, while Bar Car ‘3674’ is the train’s social hub, reviving all the glamour and decadence of the past.
Responsibilities:
- Providing exceptional customer service to guests to ensure that their needs are met throughout their stay and crafting personalized accommodations and amenities to cater to individual needs
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the cabins or rooms by sanitizing, changing bed linens, replenishing supplies, and ensuring a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests
- Providing turndown services in the evening and preparing the cabin for rest while guests savour the fine cuisine in the dining car and enjoy sumptuous cocktails in the bar
- Takes complete responsibility for maintaining the safety and security of the sleeping cars at all times
