Jaxon Engineering is looking for an experienced CAD Design Manager to work out of our Colorado Springs office. Jaxon is a distinguished leader in Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) hardening and survivability. Jaxon provides a range of construction services to include design, engineering functions, fabrication, non-destructive testing, corrosion control mitigation, failure prediction services, refurbishment level maintenance service, and transportable low-level surveillance test services.
Successful candidates for our CAD Design Manager positions have hands-on Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Revit experience, the ability to understand and coach team members on how to convert design ideas into comprehensive design drawings and fabrication shop drawings with a high attention to detail. The ability to guide and lead the design team to success and through growth with project management and leadership communications at the front of their minds. With a constant attention to scope, schedule, and budget.
Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (or the ability to obtain one)
Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in computer aided drafting or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years’ experience in a 3D CAD Environment; with the current version of Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Revit which includes customer and subcontractor model coordination.
- 3 or more years supervisory experience
- Experience in architectural and mechanical drafting disciplines and standards
- Proficient with current versions of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, and other major 3D modelling programs
- Experience in a construction firm which utilizes architectural and mechanical drafting disciplines
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 environment which includes a product data manager, Autodesk Vault proffered.
- Department of Defense experience preferre

Responsibilities:
- Mentors’ employees for professional growth while ensuring accountability, accuracy and efficiency across a diverse design team with ranging design disciplines and requirements.
- Manage design workflow, project prioritization, and internal training for the design team which includes workload projections for resource management.
- Ability to work well with multiple teammates including division managers, project managers, engineers and fabricators.
- Provides consistent vision and communication to the design team and to engineering leadership.
- Uphold and maintain applicable quality control procedures and documentation.
