    Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of CAD PROGRAMMER in our Calgary, AB location.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS THE APPLICANT SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Experience as a CAD Programmer in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Familiar with metal processing, plate bending and fabrication technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with 3D modeling and nesting software
  • Experience troubleshooting programs and equipment
  • Familiar with press brake forming and flat layout development

Responsibilities:

  • Produce parts and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Nest and sequence parts for multiple cutting systems.
  • Maintain drawings through the revision change process and drawing control system
  • Assist in preparing time and material estimates on projects and quotes
  • Assist in other areas which may include safety, logistics, production, etc.
  • Produce high quality work with little supervision under strict timelines.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
