DESIGNATION : CAD Technician

QUALIFICATIONS

• Have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CAD Technician or similar role, preferably in the renewable energy or engineering industry.
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D modelling software, such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, or equivalent.
• Excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present designs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies and project requirements.
• Full UK drivers license.

We are looking for a CAD Technician to work in the BW ESS in-house Planning & Development team.
The role will primarily involve leading the production of site layouts for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects at various stages of the development lifecycle in the UK.

Core duties will include:

• Creating accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, layouts, and models using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD);
• Preparing site elevations and full suite of planning application drawings to scale;
• Collaborate with a mutli-disciplinary team (including planning and development managers, engineers, project managers and others) to understand project requirements and objectives;
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations in all design work;
• Maintain organised project files and documentation, including revisions and updates; and
• Staying informed about advancements in CAD technology and renewable energy trends to enhance skills and knowledge.

The role may also include supporting the other jurisdictions that BW ESS operates in, including but not limited to, Australia, Germany, Italy and Sweden.
