CAD Technician (Power Plants)

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software, with strong and demonstrable experience in electrical and grid -related drawings
• Strong understanding of grid connection requirements, electrical layouts and SLD’s
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and regulatory guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to design work
• Good command of English and German
• Preferably a degree in electrical engineering or architecture with knowledge of electrical components or comparable work experience within this field.

This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact. Key responsibilities including:

• Create high quality 2D CAD drawings, including site layouts and Single Line Diagrams (SLD’s) of BESS modules, associated plant components and infrastructure, for Grid Connection Applications and Pre-Building Applications.
• Design and optimise detailed substation layouts, including switchgear, busbars, transformers and cabling arrangements to facilitate grid connection processes
• Work directly with our German Grid Lead in preparing technical documentation and ensuring compliance with local Grid regulations
• Maintain accurate records of design iterations and project documentation
• Assist in technical discussions with grid operators and external stakeholders as required
• Collaborate with other engineering functions and project teams to optimise design solutions
• Incorporate technical requirements into layouts while adhering to applicable standards and regulations
