Description:

You want to be part of a team that designs the transportation systems you’ll be driving for years to come. You want to learn more about the design process and how a team works together to get projects done. You’re not afraid to ask questions. You make-and own-your decisions.
Binnie is looking for a CAD Technician to join our Traffic Services Division, which provides traffic engineering services for traffic operations reviews, land development traffic studies, traffic modelling and analysis, and traffic management studies. Some recent assignments include traffic engineering support on the Owner’s Engineer Team for the Pattullo Bridge Replacement and Fraser River Tunnel Projects, traffic management support on the Broadway Subway Line and traffic modelling support for Translink’s new rapid bus lines.
This position is in our Burnaby office, located near scenic Deer Lake. You will work with our experienced Project Managers and Design Engineers. You will carry out CAD assignments, design work, and quality management according to Binnie’s Organizational Quality Management Policy (OQM). This role offers great mentorship opportunities.

ABOUT BINNIE:

We are the people behind the infrastructure you use every day. We are small enough to know each other’s names, and big enough to be where we’re needed. As an employee-owned firm and one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, we take pride in our work and are respected as one of the top engineering firms in British Columbia. We support some of the most important infrastructure in the province and beyond.
We are looking for professionals who want to build careers and communities that last. We can’t do it without you.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting Traffic Control Plans in AutoCAD
  • Preparing CAD drawings including set-up, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors and pipe networks
  • Adhering to BC MOTI CAD standards as well as Binnie’s internal CAD standards
  • Preparing documentation for design folders and reports as needed
  • Complete intermediate to complex drafting assignments under the general direction and
supervision of more senior CAD Technicians and project team members
