    The Role
    We are seeking to engage a Cadet Drafter to join our Power and Energy Team. This role can be based in any of our offices across Australia and will be required to undertake Drafting tasks of limited scope and complexity under guidance and to ensure SMEC Corporate and Client standards are maintained to provide an efficient and high-quality product.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the preparation of schematic and production drawings under supervision
  • Performing general office duties under supervision.
  • Assisting more senior Drafters with the analysis of tasks and problems.
  • Production of construction level documentation
  • Check print procedure
  • Issuing procedures
  • Vault data management processes

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Enrolment in Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
  • At least 1-2 year’s professional industry experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn Civil Infrastructure and CADD technologies
  • Willingness to learn CADD technologies with emphasis on the Autodesk suite of products
  • Ability to interpret and carry out instructions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations
