EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in areas including Polymers, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- Ms. Or Ph.D. preferred in areas including Polymers, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Five years’ work experience with polymer materials characterization and skills in operation of advanced mechanical characterization instruments and testing protocols for generation of quality data. An advanced degree in areas stated above can be substituted for 5 years work experience.
- Prefer experience in injection molding simulation with Moldflow or similar software
Languages English, additional language preferred
OTHER SKILLS
Knowledgeable of polymeric materials including mechanical properties, design life, viscoelasticity, rheology, stress-relaxation, fatigue, stress-strain at high strain rate.
Knowledgeable in the injection molding process of thermoplastic polymers, preferably lab or work experience in operation of the equipment.
Knowledgeable in model building with CAD/CAE programs and tooling and part design for the injection molding process.
Ability to process and explain test results in easily understandable language.
Knowledge and experience in polymer blending and/or compounding processes preferred but not required.
Computer skills and Microsoft Office experience including Word Documents, Excel, and PowerPoint documents.
