ABOUT THE ROLE
Our dedicated Café team are looking for a Café Assistant to join them on a Permanent Full-time basis working 32 hours across 5 rostered days per week, including 1 weekend day. It is a spilt shift from 10am to 2.30pm and then on certain days 4pm to 8pm. There will also be the opportunity to pick up additional hours if there is a function on in the evening. Located at our stunning Dannemora Gardens Village in Botany Downs, you will deliver exceptional service to our residents while also providing a great dining experience!
SOME OF THE GREAT THINGS YOU WILL BE DOING
- Reporting to the Kitchen Manager you will be taking food and beverage orders from our residents, visitors and staff
- Serving and collecting meals in our café
- Making coffee
- Operating the cash register
- General cleaning including café equipment and cutlery
- Additional kitchen duties as and when required
This is a fast-paced environment so you’ll be someone who loves being part of the team, enjoy thinking on your feet and can prioritise and juggle tasks with ease. With the enjoyment of helping others some things that will support your application include:
- Exceptional customer service skills and ideal previous cafe /commercial kitchen experience
- Enjoy giving service with a smile and can effortlessly juggle several tasks as once.
- Barista experience a plus.
- Mature and reliable with exceptional written & verbal communication skills
- A Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate (not essential) as well as and/or commercial kitchen experienc
