The Calibration Systems Software Engineer, as part of a small team of engineers and technicians, will be responsible for the design, development, integration, build, adaptation, upgrade and testing of the Bureau’s Standards & Metrology Laboratory Calibration Systems.
The Calibration Systems Software Engineer will have excellent communication and engagement skills suited to collaborating with managers, engineers, scientists and technical staff across the Bureau. They will have detailed knowledge and experience applying best-practise software development skills and techniques to the development and integration of software-intensive electro-mechanical systems. They will conduct software architecture design, implementation and testing, covering object-oriented design, embedded programming and serial communication protocols, for example RS232 and RS485.
They will participate in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of products and services and the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system to achieve and maintain the ongoing certification of compliance with the ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality management standards. The successful candidate will help grow the world-class standards and metrology quality assurance capability and be focused on customer delivery.
The Calibration Systems Software Engineer will report directly to the Lead Calibration Systems Engineer (EL1).
