As a Calibration Technician working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the biologics sector. This job is based in a cutting-edge facility in Sligo.
We are seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team at LotusWorks. In this role, you will be based at a state-of-the-art facility in Sligo within the biologics sector. As a Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of a wide range of instruments, including temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, level, balance, pH and conductivity analysers, dimensional and measurement equipment, and various other instrumentation.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with Maximo would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team while also demonstrating initiative in problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in computer operating systems and applications such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified Craft Technician (Instrumentation) or a metrology qualification or appropriate 3rd level qualification.
  • City & Guilds 225 Parts 1, 2 & 3, or Level 6 or higher in Industrial Automation & Controls, Applied Physics and Instrumentation, or Metrology.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled calibrations according to client and LotusWorks procedures for facilities and process calibration.
  • Respond to and assist production in the event of faulty or unscheduled equipment that has failed or is out of specification to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Interact professionally with client area owners and all client staff to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance activities are completed in a compliant and efficient manner.
  • Plan equipment downtime when necessary for on-line calibrations or vendor availability.
  • Follow all procedures related to overdue/quarantined equipment to ensure compliance from a calibration department perspective.
  • Adhere to calibration discrepancy procedures and follow up on calibrated items that have been escalated as discrepancies.
  • Follow decommissioning procedures and follow up on items that cannot be fixed.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement in processes and calibration activities.
  • Assist in audits and investigations as required.
  • Maintain organized and controlled documentation in compliance with GAMP and FDA regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate calibration activities.
  • Update Calibration Management software as necessary.
  • Ensure training is up to date.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
