G2 Enterprises Corp. is a locally owned business, proudly operating several successful companies in the towing and transportation industry. We support the leadership and overall management of the companies by providing expertise that assists the leadership teams in achieving their objectives. G2 also provides the back-office support including accounting, payroll and benefits, human resources, information technology, and strategic planning support.
We are looking to add a Call Taker & Dispatcher to our team within the Astro Towing division.
Astro Towing has proudly been serving Saskatchewan for over 45 years, providing emergency roadside service, towing, accident and abandoned vehicle recovery, and hauling services to our community and partners. Our fleet operates a variety of equipment ranging from battery vans and light duty tow trucks to heavy wreckers and tractor-trailer units. We pride ourselves on being able to take on any job – big, small or complicated, delivering excellent customer service, operating safely and efficiently, and employing passionate professionals to meet the needs of our customers.
The Call Taker & Dispatcher position is a key liaison between our customers and fleet operators and is responsible for providing top-notch service throughout the entire process – from answering calls, assessing needs, and dispatching appropriate equipment as needed. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, stays calm under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are looking for someone who is accustomed to shift work, including a variety of days, evenings, overnights and weekends. The initial training period will run approximately 2-6 weeks, with shifts scheduled Monday through Friday between 7 am and 7 pm. After the training period, rotational shifts will begin.
What you’ll be doing:
- Answer customer calls on a multi-line phone system
- Collect essential information and enter data in the electronic system in “real time” while communicating with customers
- Estimate trip costs and provide accurate service estimates to customers
- Coordinate with peers to dispatch fleet operators effectively and efficiently
- Respond to incoming customer inquiries via telephone and emails in a timely manner
- Clearly communicate the specifics of each customer situation to fleet operators
- Verify and confirm invoices prior to sending to customers
- Daily and weekly review, completion, and reporting on various aspects of the operations
- Prepare necessary documentation as per customers’ requests
- Coordinate details including necessary permits and paperwork as required by customers
- Process pre-authorizations prior to dispatching calls for one-time customers
- Monitor all incoming emails to the general email account
- Problem-solve situations and prioritize as they arise
- Process invoices and payments for customers retrieving vehicles from compound
- Complete the outstanding invoice report as assigned
- Contribute to keeping office areas tidy, organized, stocked and clean
- Evening and overnight shifts (after 6:00 pm) performs light cleaning duties as needed, including but not limited to:
- Check printer to ensure paper is full for next day
- Tidy common areas (front desk, dispatch office, and lunchroom)
- Empty and take out garbage and recycling
- Ensure supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels) are filled in bathrooms and lunchroom
- Sweep main floor and lunchroom areas
- Other duties as assigned or required
What you’ll need to bring:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of customer-service experience
- Passion for helping others with a positive, can-do, and fun-loving attitude
- Computer savviness and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong comprehension and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness and ability to stay calm under pressure and manage high-stress situations
- Excellent organizational skills with a great attention for detail
- Team-oriented attitude, desire to support others, and a willingness to “get stuff done” and keep busy
- Ability to learn quickly and contribute to the greater good of a fast-paced office
- Ability to diffuse and resolve conflict in a professional manner
