Apple’s camera algorithms team is looking for an architect to work on image capture and processing/rendering pipeline that serves cameras on all Apple products! As part of the team, you will work on camera, ISP, and Machine Learning technologies based on Apple crafted image signal processing pipeline and HW components, such as the Apple Neural Engine. Here you will have the chance to define how next generation Apple cameras capture, process, and render outstanding still image and video in different OS platforms. You will work closely with various teams, such as Silicon Design, Platform Architecture, Camera Hardware, Camera Software, Camera prototyping, Operating Systems and QA.
DESCRIPTION
In this camera software architect role, you will define the video processing pipeline to enable innovative applications that optimize usage of the different hardware components of the Apple ecosystem, to enable high-quality user experiences for different use cases. You will collaborate with multiple camera technology teams to build a platform that enables experimenting and prototyping of various camera algorithms on Apple products for proof-of-concepts, and refining algorithms into shippable product features. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, an excellent problem solver, and a faster learner. You are comfortable working in a dynamic multi-functional environment, quick to establish relationships and comfortable with changes and ambiguities. You will bring software expertise to a highly interdisciplinary team, and work with many dedicated engineers to build high-quality features in Apple products.

- BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
- Proven leadership experience in the conceptualization and design of complex software systems
- Experience or knowledge on image or video processing
- Experience or knowledge on CV/ML
- Experience or knowledge in ISP pipeline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written skills for clear reporting of data analysis and conclusions
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative to solve problems without explicit directions, and deliver results under tight engineering schedules
- Proven C/C++ programming skills with OOP design experience
- Development experience in realtime camera framework or driver
- Technical project and team leadership experience: strong communication, persuasion and negotiation skills in addition to being comfortable with working through ambiguities
- Self-driven and passionate for camera technologies, as well as prototyping and productization
- Ability to learn quickly and become familiar with multiple technology areas
