Description:

Dorset HealthCare is the first mental health trust providing community services in the South to be given an Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and one of only a handful nationally.
We are proud to be part of the wider CAMHS service in Dorset and all it has achieved in recent years, with its progress and developments being demonstrable. Currently CAMHS community services are rated Good and CAMHS inpatient unit is rated Outstanding. We have been fast tracked by NHSE to deliver New Care Models providing a closer to home crisis home treatment service. We are also part of the national trailblazer to deliver Mental Health Support Teams in schools across 3 pilot sites in Dorset. In addition, NHSE have commissioned Dorset Healthcare to build a new state of the art 8 bed PICU.
We currently provide the following CAMHS services across Dorset:
6 Community teams
10 Bed adolescent inpatient unit
Dedicated CAMHS psychiatric liaison services within 3 acute hospitals -Out of Hours crisis service
Closer to Home Service
Discovery college
Peer specialists working within our community and inpatient teams
As part of the developments within CAMHS, Dorset HealthCare has set up a brand new ‘Front Door’ service to the current Core CAMHS teams, focusing on the assessment of young people and providing brief clinical intervention.

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team as a CAMHS Community Practitioner. We have a full time and part time permanent positions available in the service. You will be responsible for assessing new young people coming through the service, holding a clinical caseload of people undertaking short term, evidence based interventions in line with our care pathways and providing some duty cover when needed. We work a mix of digital, face-to-face and home working. You will work closely with the wider team providing a high quality of care ensuring high standards of clinical practice when working with all young people and their families/carers.
We would like to encourage applicants from across Dorset, in particular the West and North Dorset region. We have various base hubs available across the county for staff who live in the West to use as their base, as well as running face to face clinics at these hubs and working from home for part of the week too.
