Description:

We are looking for someone who can work within the youth offending context whilst also maintaining the CAMHS perspective and play a key link role between these two services. If you think you have the skills to take up this role we want to hear from you. You would join an established and supportive team and a service which places training and development high on the agenda.
The current arrangement is 2 days with Enhanced Treatment Team (ETT) and 3 days with YOS.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

The post will be based between the Brent Youth Offending Service at the Brent Civic Centre and the Brent CAMHS team based at the Monks Park Health Centre which is the clinical base for the Tier 3 CAMHS. We are looking for a highly motivated professional with previous experience of working with young people. You will take a lead role in working with local agencies, the private sector and the voluntary sector.
The Brent CAMHS team is staffed by a large multi-disciplinary team of clinicians. We aim to provide an accessible, flexible and responsive local service for patients and professionals working with children in the area using the whole range of therapeutic interventions, including behavioural, systemic, psycho-dynamic, group and multi-family work as well as neuro-developmental approaches. For the right candidate there will be numerous training opportunities in a variety of areas.
If you want to join this supportive and innovative team and are looking for a challenging career development then we look forward to hearing from you.
The purpose of the role is to provide a CAMHS service to the Youth Offending Service as required by Crime and Disorder act 1998, to ensure children and young people in contact with youth justice service are provided with mental health services.
The YOT worker will compliment an existing coordinated approach by developing and supporting systems to ensure that when a young person enters the youth justice system, the YOT has within it the skill and capacity to ensure that their mental health needs are taken into consideration and addressed effectively. The post holder will ensure that a young person in contact with the youth justice system will have the same access to a comprehensive health service (both mental and physical health) as any other young person within the general population.
The post holder will provide assessment, early intervention and referral to a range of primary and secondary health care services and target YOS service users with a view to developing robust assessment and health planning systems with a view to establishing a whole systems approach to healthcare and treatment for this often difficult to reach client group
