Description:
Are you a committed and enthusiastic clinician, and would you like to work in a well led and respected multi-disciplinary CAMH service? We have a vacancy in our CAMHS Specialist Community Advisor Team and you could be just who we are looking for!
The role of the CAMHS Specialist Community Advisor is to provide a link between universal first contact services for children and families, such as Schools, Children’s Services, Primary care, voluntary sector and Specialist CAMHS.
You will be a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or equivalent with experience of working in a role within or closely related to CAMHS. You will be expected to work independently to develop working relationships with a range of professionals and partner agencies, within an assigned geographical area and act as a representative of the wider CAMHS service.
As a member of the CAMHS service, you will be required to work and be based between CAMHS and various community locations ; a car driver with a full current licence & own transport is therefore essential.
The main aim of the service is to provide consultations to professionals about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people; to help identify children and who need help at the earliest possible point; provide specialist advice; and if necessary help facilitate access to the most appropriate source of support.
Delivering training workshops to professionals and parents is part of the role and so experience in this area would be desirable.
Supporting our young people during a difficult time in their lives, can be hugely rewarding: it also requires a special sort of person – caring, respectful, empathetic, resilient, an excellent communicator. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Whilst you care for our young people and families, in turn we recognise the importance of caring for you – clinical supervision, career & personal development and health & wellbeing support are all core to our service. If you’re keen to develop particular interests within child & adolescent mental health, come and talk to us about how we could support that.
Our CAMHS team covers the North Derbyshire area from our 2 bases in Buxton and Chesterfield and provide a service predominantly Monday – Friday between 9am – 5pm. There will be some flexibility to allow for the delivery of some early evening training workshops on occasions. Our service has embraced flexible and remote working.
