Salary: $40,483.00/year - $44,981.00/year

THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE TO STAY ON SITE AT CAMP CHIEF HECTOR AND AS SUCH ACCOMMODATION WILL BE PROVIDED.

What qualifications are we looking for?

At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting procedures and office administration
  • Employment background in camping programs and facilities is an asset
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Able to work efficiently with other departments within YMCA Calgary and be the Camp Chief Hector representative
  • Competent computer skills including Word and Excel and able to learn new systems quickly
  • Able to multi-task and demonstrate strong time-management skills
  • Knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John’s Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and 3 or less demerits to be able to drive Camp Chief Hector vehicles
  • Three professional references

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Duties and Responsibilities include;

  • Leading the seasonal staff recruitment process, including scheduling interviews and managing the intake of required paperwork from staff
  • Providing excellent customer service including answering general inquiries and managing the camp email
  • Administering the Camp Chief Hector fleet management systems, including vehicle checks, driver training and policy tracking, and checking that ecompliance forms match vehicle sign outs and actual vehicle use.
  • Administering and approving summer camp subsidy requests
  • Driving to the Exshaw post office 3 to 5 times a week, distributing incoming mail, processing outgoing mail
  • Assisting with Camp Chief Hector facility booking system management and outstanding balances
  • Ensuring the three Camp Chief Hector administration & photocopy areas are well stocked and organized; ordering new supplies as needed. Maintaining board room functionalities and AV at the Expedition Centre
  • Supporting the Camp Chief Hector Reconciliation in Action work group bi-weekly in person meetings
  • Working with IT to ensure telephone, printer / scanner / photocopier and internet systems are working properly
  • May be required to assist with WCB case management, including checking in with staff and providing rides to appointments
  • Providing shared leadership to the annual YMCA Let’s Raise & other special events
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager
