Description:

ABOUT THE DIRECTORATE:

The Estates and Property Services Directorate is responsible for the delivery of the Estates and Infrastructure Strategy, which covers the areas of major construction and refurbishment projects, facilities operation and space management, including timetabling and energy management.
The Directorate aims to ensure that the quality, functionality and operation of the estate and its associated infrastructure meets the needs of its users and supports the activities of SOAS
About the Role
The Campus Cleaning Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety and overall well-being of the SOAS environment, creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere for students, staff and visitors. Reporting directly to the Head of Housekeeping Services, the Coordinator will work collaboratively within a dynamic team to deliver high-quality, efficient services. This involves supporting the day-to-day management of cleaning staff and Supervisor’s within all campus areas, ensuring all duties are carried out in line with SOAS policies, procedures and service level agreements.
This position requires a hands-on approach, coupled with excellent communication skills across all levels of the SOAS community. The successful candidate will need to be attentive to the specific needs of the space and must demonstrate a professional, diligent attitude in fulfilling their duties.
Key responsibilities will include supporting the Head of Housekeeping Services to ensure consistent delivery of services, monitoring compliance with SOAS’s health, safety and operational standards, responding promptly to service requests whilst maintaining flexibility to meet the needs of the University, and collaborating with other departments to enhance operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will have a friendly and approachable manner, and should enjoy interacting with a diverse community. While experience within the Higher Education sector would be an advantage, strong supervisory skills and the ability to manage a variety of routine tasks are essential. A proactive approach and the ability to respond swiftly to new demands are highly valued in this role.
You can find further information on the key criteria for the role in the Job Description and Person Specification, along with a full list of duties and responsibilities, which can be found on the SOAS website.
