Job Description
The Opportunity
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Worldwide Campus is currently hiring a Campus Director (CD) located at the Ramstein/KMC Campus location. The Campus Director (CD) is responsible for the operation of one or more Worldwide Campus locations. The CD is responsible for general administrative, budget/financial management, human resource functions, and the student advisement for the campus to include Kaiserslautern Military Community locations (Kleber, Panzer, Daenner, Sembach, Landstuhl, Baumholder, ROB). The CD also participates in recruitment, public relations, and outreach efforts to provide prospective and current students with relevant information regarding university programs and services.
The CD is responsible for providing educational guidance and assistance for students by planning schedules, recommending courses, and determining appropriate educational solutions for different types of students with a goal of progressing students toward degree completion. Reporting to an Associate Executive Director of Campus Operations, the Campus Director is responsible for administrative management and may supervise an Associate Campus Director and/or an Administrative Assistant. They work closely with the Worldwide Directors of Enrollment Development in the setting of campus enrollment goals and in the oversight of the student enrollment life cycle, from prospective student to graduate.

Advising/Student Services

  • Provide(s) academic advisement by being knowledgeable of the policy, procedures, and programs; facilitates the registration process by providing accurate degree advisement to include program selection, degree mapping, degree completion timeline; track student progress and make enrollment recommendations; directing students to resources within the University that provide additional assistance (student financial services, VA, admissions, Bookstore, etc.).
  • Ensures that all University policies and procedures are enforced. Maintains student confidentiality.
  • Proactively contact assigned students per the Campus Operations Communications Plan to ensure student success and retention.
  • Demonstrates sound decision making and troubleshooting skills.
  • Process academic/curriculum waivers, and student/instructor issues.

Provide(s) various other student services to include

  • Advising and assessing student requests for drops, academic and curriculum waivers, changes of program, declaration of minors, change of catalogs, requests for updated evaluations, Intra-University Transfer, individual tutorial, 4+1 program, at-risk student support, applications for graduation, and approval to take courses at another institution.
  • Preparation of unofficial student evaluations, maintenance of imaged student records, and reconciliation and monitoring of student financial status.
  • Performs regular, in-person contact with prospects, applicants, new students, and continuing students in line with Campus Communications timeline.
  • Along with the Associate Campus Director and Assistant Campus Director (where applicable), is responsible for superior customer service and student retention.
  • Promotes scholarship opportunities, information about honor society, Who’s Who, alumni affinity groups, career services, and other organizations.
  • Responsible for maintaining campus email correspondence in a timely manner. Promotes the advisor-advisee relationship by effectively using the various tools of communication, including email, telephone, face to face meetings, social media interaction, and relevant Campus Solution comments.
  • Provide(s) appropriate correspondence to requesting internal and external agencies and Worldwide Campus

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining student information and generating reports to ensure accuracy of data in Campus Solutions and Imaging systems.
  • Information gained should generate student registrations, timely payments, and identifying at risk students. Responsible for reconciling and resolving individual student enrollment and academic issues.
  • Accountable for campus overall enrollments and meeting individual registration targets.
  • Accountable for the accurate maintenance of campus and student records.
  • Assists in monitoring and processing budget expenditures for the campus.
  • Practices diligence in safeguarding of university assets (physical inventory, campus safety survey, emergency preparedness plan, etc.).
  • Along with other campus staff members, ensures that campus financial affairs are in good order and that the campus is always audit ready.
  • Ensures that classrooms and facilities are always ready for instructional use (including EagleVision). As required, modification of office hours to ensure coverage is available for duration of the in-session classes.
  • Budget and financial management responsibilities to include Travel expenses, Purchase Reconciliation, annual Outreach/Marketing Plan and contract compliance.

Provide(s) various human resources functions to include

  • Position requests with justification, performance evaluation, improvement plan, provide performance feedback as appropriate, and serve as the liaison for inquires related to HR policies and procedures.

Outreach/Community Relations

  • Promotes the University and its programs through participation/networking of/in college fairs, briefings for applicable military units/groups, and other meaningful opportunities. Communicates with local civilian organizations as well as the military.
  • Helps maintain an excellent relationship and communication with the local Education Services Officer (ESO), for a campus located within an Education Center of a military installation.
  • Identify mobile office hours and unit briefing opportunities.
  • Represents the University in a positive and professional manner, at all times, to elicit interested prospects and retain current students.

Training & Professional Development

  • Closely cooperates with the supervisor in support of the campus operations to include active participation in all required training activities, such as New Hire Training and annual training requirements.
  • Demonstrates effective utilization of university tools and resources.
  • Active participation in University Services (Townhalls, Meetings, Degree Briefings, Workshops, etc.)
  • Provides thoughtful feedback and comments to training facilitators.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • (1-3) years of work-related experience

  • Experience in higher education administration, marketing, and/or customer service.
