Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a dependable Can Depalletizer to join our team at ADL Fitzroy, our canning facility that processes evaporated and sweetened condensed milk for distribution across Canada. This full-time, permanent role is essential for maintaining the flow of empty cans into our production line. The job requires extended periods of standing, operating equipment like forklifts, and working in varying temperatures. The ideal candidate is a team player committed to safety and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with a focus on food processing preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating industrial equipment, including forklifts.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in completing paperwork and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role, standing for long periods and handling various tasks.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Commitment to safety and efficiency in all aspects of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and oversee the depalletizer to ensure a steady supply of empty cans to the production line.
  • Prepare pallets by removing plastic wrap, strapping, and paper dividers, and manage the feeding of cans into the depalletizer.
  • Utilize a forklift to move pallets and position them for processing.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area by sweeping, removing debris, and disposing of waste properly.
  • Record and manage inventory of tops and paper dividers, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
  • Assist in the training of new employees and complete any required training programs.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager to support operations.
