12 months fixed-term

How you will make an impact
We are looking for a dynamic experienced Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to be part of our Cancer Exercise and Wellness team. This role involves working with our Cancer Wellness Coordinator to support patients undergoing treatment for cancer. You will assist with our Supportive Care Screening program and service evaluation. You may also be required to assist with the delivery of our Cancer Exercise and Wellness Programs such as working with our allied health professionals to deliver group exercise classes or other therapy.
This is a part-time role, working 2 days per week (0.4 FTE)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing cancer patient data for the Supportive Care Screening Program
  • Contacting cancer patients to discuss their screening results and provide information and referral on to relevant services, booking these appointments in Cabrini programs where suitable.
  • Developing and maintaining a good knowledge of Cabrini outpatient services and staff
  • Escalating patient concerns to the Wellness Coordinator
  • Ensuring good communication, effective relationships, and teamwork between peers and other clinical staff and services.
  • Assisting with other administrative duties as outlined by the Wellness Coordinator, or Outpatient Manager.
  • Facilitating safe and appropriate completion of a prescribed exercise programs in a group setting as outlined by the treating exercise physiologist/physiotherapist.
  • Conduct other interventions under the supervision and delegation of allied health professionals.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respects sensitive information, adhering to Australian Privacy Principles 2014 and Cabrini Privacy Policy.

About you
We are looking for a dynamic qualified Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant (AHA), with experience in a healthcare setting. You will have excellent communication skills, be organised, and flexible, and work well within a team.

You will have:

  • Relevant Allied Health Assistant qualifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and fantastic customer service skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and has a flexible approach to tasks allocated
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package and the ability to learn new IT systems quickly, including good keyboard skills, word processing and accurate data entry is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in healthcare and training in medical terminology is highly desirable
  • Experienced in exercise delivery & managing groups of patients is advantageous.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a strong client-customer service focus.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
