EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school
  • Vocational school coursework in kitchen basics, such as food safety,
  • HACCP exam preferred.
  • 5 years of related work experience in similar position preferred.
  • Intermediate level in reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language and fluency in Hungarian
  • Good administration and computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25kg at times.

GRESTI CANTEEN DESCRIPTION:

This is the restaurant of the hotel for the employees. The following meals are served here: breakfast, lunch, dinner, overnight dinner. The average guest numbers in Gresti is around 50 for breakfast, 150 for lunch, 100 for dinner and 25 for overnight.
The usual selection of the food for lunch and for dinner is 1 soup, 2-3 main courses, garnishes, salad bar, fresh / preserved fruit and desserts.
From time to time kitchen department held thematic / national days with special menus. For the Festive days, such like Easter, Hotel’s Birthday, Christmas and New Year’s Day the canteen has special, enhanced offer.
About Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace
Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace is an art nouveau masterpiece, which was built in 1906. It originally housed residential apartments for most of the 20th century before its transformation into a Four Seasons in 2004.
The hotel has 179 rooms and you can also opt for fine dining at Kollázs Brasserie & Múzsa Bar and relax at the rooftop spa.

Responsibilities:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and directs workers assisting with the preparation and serving of meals.
  • Trains new employees.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans, cuts, prepares, and cooks meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature.
  • Prepares and cooks various items according to menus, special dietary or nutritional requirements, or numbers of portions to be served.
  • Apportions and serves food to employees if needed.
  • Develops, compiles, and maintains food records regarding use and expenditures.
  • Inventories supplies and equipment.
  • Determines, or assists in determining, meals, menus.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and functional operation of galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas by routinely cleaning and inspecting each piece.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
