Our Capital Projects – Energy & Decarbonisation Portfolio is responsible for planning, scoping and implementing large capital programmes of work that support Fonterra’s strategic asset road map and big plays in sustainability. Our pipeline of work consists of high value and complex capital investments with broad impact and multiple stakeholders.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY | TE WHAI WAAHI

Fonterra are on an exciting journey to ‘Decarbonise’ our operational footprint and exit coal use by 2037. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Capital Decarbonisation & Energy team and play a significant part in innovative projects that will improve our energy efficiency and switch us from coal to renewable energy.

As our new Capital Project Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership to selected Capital Projects and employ these attributes in all business dealings and relationships to support the Portfolio.
  • Ensuring appropriate project procedures, design standards and specifications are implemented on each project.
  • Overseeing the establishment of project teams consisting of external contractors, subject matter experts, consultants and operational staff to successfully deliver projects.
  • Ensuring the teams who operate, maintain and support the Utility operation, build the capability required for a successful change in order to achieve sustainable performance of assets (including manufacturing and any wider national supporting teams).
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with our stakeholders, agencies, and partners.

We are looking for our preferred candidate be based ideally in Hamilton, Christchurch or Auckland with flexibility to travel frequently to our sites.

ABOUT YOU | MOE KOE

We are looking for a driven project manager who has an interest in sustainability and ideally previous experience leading decarbonisation and/or utility and operational improvement projects in food manufacturing environments. You are an effective coach and leader and are experienced in building capability in others.

Key skills and experience we are looking for are:

  • Proven experience in capital project management with success in delivering business outcomes.
  • Effective communicator and demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships and networks across all levels of internal teams as well as external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the key business systems, priorities, and drivers within Manufacturing Operations & Utilities.
  • Experience in leading change across large teams.
  • Project Management qualification, preferably in PMP but not a requirement.
  • Ideally previous experience in contract management and implementing projects within a food manufacturing environment.
