Cardiac Rehabilitation Technician

To work as part of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team to provide assessment, treatment and advice to patients referred for Cardiac Rehabilitation. To facilitate early (Phase 1) rehabilitation assessment, telephone assessment and advice. To routinely act as first and lead contact for routine non-complex patients within the specified clinical area and within specific guidelines. To carry own caseload of non-complex patients assessing, according to competencies, and implementing treatment programmes.
To communicate information to patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals using respect, reassurance and professionalism. To work independently and without direct supervision; knowing that a Physiotherapist / Clinical Nurse Specialist is available for reference and ensuring there is excellent communication at all times. To be actively involved in the in-service training programme, including the mentoring and training of Band 3 Support Staff and supporting students as required. Oversee the stock control of materials used in the Cardiac Rehabilitation programme across sites.
Setting up / preparing / clearing exercise areas and leading warm up & cool-down exercises. Cleaning equipment post exercise class. For further detail please see the job description and person specification attached to this advert
