Post No. POSN003405 - Care and Support Officer
Newport City Council are currently looking to recruit to the position of Care and Support Officer within Centrica Lodge. This is a 13hr weekly contract working every Sunday 08.00 – 21.00
Centrica Lodge is a respite home registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) to provide personal care and accommodation for up to six people over the age of 18 years living with complex needs including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and disabilities.
The service is person-centred, enabling people to enjoy short breaks away from their home in an environment where they are encouraged to develop their independent living skills.
You will spend your time supporting our guests in all aspects of daily living which includes personal care, medication management, manual handling, meal preparation and the delivery of meaningful activities that stimulate and encourage physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
We are looking for people who are keen to make a difference, who strive to work within a culture which enables our guest to feel safe, secure and empowered. A culture that actively promotes human rights, putting people at the centre of their care and support.
You will have previous experience of working in a care setting, hold a full UK driving license and be willing to drive the car allocated to the service. Have or be undertaking a level 2 or 3 qualification recognised by Social Care Wales to enable registration as an Adult Care home Worker.
