Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.

Responsibilities:

This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your main place of work will be The Orchard which is in Combe Down, Bath. The Orchard offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is easily accessible via public transport or car.

We are looking for an Care Assistant (Extra Care) to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at The Orchard on a part time basis on permanent contract. This role is for 21 hours per week (one post available) and involves a rota system which includes working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.

  • Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing
  • Promote tenant’s independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care
  • Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants
  • Providing support to access third party and NHS services
  • Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed
  • Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE IS SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED DBS CHECK.
