Role: Care Assistant
Location: La Verna Day Care, Baldoyle, Dublin
Reporting to: Nurse Manager
Terms: Full-time permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Salary: €14 per hour
Job Purpose: To provide person centred care to Service Users in La Verna Older Person’s Day Care Service
KEY COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum L5 Care of the Elderly.
- 2+ years experience in a care of older person’s position.
- Experience in working as part of a staff team.
- Sound knowledge of best practise in the care of older persons.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude and empathy with older persons.
- Ability to lead activities for Older Persons.
- Creative.
- Flexibility in duties.
- Garda Vetting will be required as part of the recruitment process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality, compassionate and appropriate care.
- Assist / lead a variety of activities which are programme appropriate.
- Reporting concerns to manager.
- Providing care improvement recommendations and suggestions.
- Work as part of a team.
- Follow Policies & Procedures.
- Follow policies and procedures to maintain infection control and prevent the spread of disease.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Engage in and be open to continuous professional development.
