Description:
SUPERVISION
- Provide advice, induction, training and supervision as required.
- Appropriate shadowing opportunities for new Caregivers
- Positive working relationship with management team, Caregivers, clients and any other persons involved in the care and support of an individual
- Assist in solving day-to-day problematical issues which arise.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in adult residential services / care
- Relevant experience in a supervisory and advisory role

- An understanding of health and safety and data protections requirements and legislation

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
- To provide high quality home care services that support the rights of Clients to live the lives they choose as far as they are able.
- Responsible for the continuity of care for Clients, ensuring all visits are covered by the appropriately skilled Caregiver
MAIN DUTIES
Care Services
- Develop Client care plans and re-organise them as necessary when difficulties arise.
- Check on the care that Clients have received and making sure this is recorded and documented accurately.
- Work alongside the Caregivers to make sure any interventions are evaluated and use this information to evaluate when another intervention may or will be required.
- Make sure Caregivers with the right skills and experience are matched to deliver each customer’s care and support plan.
- Ensure Supervisors support and supervise Caregivers to ensure care and support plans are delivered effectively and as planned.
- Assist with investigations relating to the quality of the service and implement improvement actions
- Talk to Clients and their chosen representatives about their care and support taking account of different communication needs and levels of understanding
- Work with the wider company team and other health and social care professionals to deliver high quality homecare services
- Apply company policies and procedures at all times.
- Promote the rights of each Client and keep their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
- Provide the Client, and where appropriate their representatives, with information about the service so that they are clear about what to expect and how they can raise any concerns.
- Keep all information about Clients and their families secure and confidential.
- Take part in the out of hours emergency on-call rota as and when required.
- Effectively deal with emergency on-call issues, for example covering calls either directly or indirectly when Caregivers are sick or absent. Record emergency calls and pass the information to appropriate parties such as the Care Co-ordinator or Registered Manager.
- Arrange and manage staff changeovers and briefings for live in care assignments.

- Updating any changes to Caregiver’s availability within the Visiting Angels procedure

Job Description:
Care Co-ordinator
Responsible To: Registered Manager
Planning and administration
- Use IT systems to allocate Caregivers to provide care and support to Clients by appropriately matching needs based on Caregivers skills, experience and travel arrangements and the service needs and preferences. Complete and distribute rotas on a weekly basis.
- Liaise with the Registered Manager to make sure that sufficient staff with the right skills mix are available to meet the needs of the business. Arrange cover for Caregiver sickness, absenteeism or holidays.
- Liaise with the Registered Manager to make sure there is sufficient cover to deliver all of the care and support plans on time.
- Responding efficiently to day to day changes in care and support needs.
- Ensure run and working patterns are efficient and logical.
- Effectively prioritise to meet unexpected emergencies.
- To ensure all MAR charts are audited in line with Visiting Angels Quality Monitoring procedure.
- Work with the office team to maintain up to date electronic and hand-written records. Record and monitor mileage and travel distances. Make sure that accidents and incidents are recorded, reported and acted upon.
- Carry out general office duties. Prepare reports as required as required by the Registered Manager
- Act as an ambassador for the organisation at all times in a professional and respectful manner.
