Based on The Department of Health implementation guidelines, Early Intervention Services aim to;
Reduce the stigma associated with psychosis.
Improve professional and lay awareness of the symptoms of psychosis and the need for early assessment and intervention.
Reduce the length of time young people remain undiagnosed and untreated.
Develop meaningful engagement, provide evidence-based interventions and promote recovery during the early stage of illness.
Staff training that ensures that all staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide the NICE concordant packages of care and Best Practice recommendations.
Increase stability in the lives of service users, facilitate development and personal fulfilment.
Provide a user-led service, i.e. a seamless service available for those from age 14 to 65 years (on acceptance) that effectively integrates child, adolescent and adult mental health services and works in partnership with primary care, education, social services, youth and other services.
Ensure that care is transferred thoughtfully and effectively at the end of involvement.
We require a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in providing evidence-based interventions for young people who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
