CARE FARM EDUCATION AND WELLBEING OFFICER DAY 6 PROVISION

Reports to: Care Farm Manager
Salary: £14,385.42 - £15,004.04 (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent Term Time (40 weeks)
Hours: 22.5 per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) - Position available from 21st October 2024

This work is the basis of our alternative education provision and has proved successful and popular with a wide range of commissioners, students and their carers. Accordingly, we are looking for an inspiring, knowledgeable, committed and experienced Education & Wellbeing Officer at The Willows Care Farm near Melksham.
Working alongside the Head of Care Farms, Care Farm Managers and our experienced staff team, the post holder will be responsible for leading the daily delivery of one-to-one nature-based therapeutic activities for ‘Day 6 Provision’ children and young people with diverse needs, mental ill-health, social and communication difficulties, and those in need of emotional support. Experience of working one-to-one with children and young people with diverse needs is essential, as is an understanding of person-centred practice and the use of nature, animals and creativity to support the holistic education of the children and young people with whom we work.
Day 6 Provision: Wiltshire Council must arrange suitable full-time education for any primary or secondary aged pupil to begin from the sixth school day after the first day of a permanent exclusion. This role addresses that need in that we will offer a bespoke Alternative Provision package for up to five half day sessions per week for a primary child or secondary young person who has been permanently excluded.
