As a Cook at Barnby Court, you will ensure freshly prepared meals are provided to a high standard.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in cooking homemade traditional meals inclusive of pastry and cakes and is passionate about delivering food which is of a high standard.
You will also prepare foods for residents who require soft diets and for those who are diabetic.
You will ensure cleanliness in the kitchen area at all times.
You will keep all records required by the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety 2008 - full training will be given.
Previous experience working within a cooking and/or care environment would be advantageous, ideally you would have a Food Safety Level 2 Certificate, however full training will be given. Successful applicants are required to have an enhanced DBS and sign up to the update service.

Barnby Court Care Home in Barnby Moor near Retford are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Cook. Barnby Court is a home from home privately owned Care Home with 25 beds.
Barnby Court is a home from home privately owned Care Home with 25 beds. Barnby Court is rated ‘good’ in all areas inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is band 4 Nottinghamshire County Council rated. The home holds a 5* food hygiene rating. In addition, Barnby Court has been awarded a score of 9.7 on carehome.co.uk, the leading UK care home review website.
We are looking to recruit a permanent cook to cover and average of 32 hours per week, the shifts will be 0800-1800 including weekends and bank holidays, and will generally be 3x 9.25 hour shifts one week and 4x 9.25 hour shifts the following. Additional shifts can be picked up on our rota planning app as and when you are available.
We pay overtime rates for all bank holidays and provide a workplace pension.
Salary: £12.00 per hour
