Description:

The successful Career Development Coordinator will have a passion to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviour of young people so that they can secure a career of their choosing. Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills are essential; the role requires you to deal with internal and external customers so you will need to be a consummate professional at all times. You will work with a range of young people on programmes in different areas of learning, and provide support, coaching and mentoring throughout their learning journey so that they can make the most of progression opportunities to support their career goals and aspirations. The successful applicant must hold a full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle for business use is essential.
This post is subject to a 3-month and 6-month probationary review.
The Role
The role of Career Development Coordinator is to work with young people and secure their place with Skills Group; you will work with the service sector team to organise and facilitate induction and taster sessions so that a well informed learning plan can be agreed with the individual. You will support the service sector delivery teams with developing individuals and groups through engaging personal development coaching sessions. Ensure that the learner comes first and will be responsible for identifying suitable career opportunities and working with employers to secure learners a place and gain valuable work experience and progression opportunities in the world of work. Reviewing learner progress and implementing strategies to overcome barriers will be a key part of the role you will be able to negotiate and adapt learning plans to achieve the best outcomes for learners.

PERSONAL SKILLS

An excellent communicator with all people and at all levels.
Be extremely organised with outstanding time management skills
Computer literate, in particular Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Flexible approach and be willing to work outside of normal hours
A teaching qualification is highly desirable
