Your Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Office is part of Academic Affairs, a core administrative division that organizes academic life at ISTA. We are looking for a dynamic Career Development Expert to support ISTA’s postdoctoral researchers in achieving their career aspirations, fostering their professional skills, and planning their next career stages. Your tasks in coordination of the Career Development Program for postdocs will include:
- Organize and coordinate activities for our postdocs that enhance their professional growth and development, e.g., designing and delivering training and information sessions on career development topics as well as organizing workshops with external trainers
- Provide one-on-one career coaching to help identify career goals, explore options, and navigate career transitions
- Actively contribute to other tasks in the Postdoctoral Office, including the management of postdoc programs
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders at ISTA to track and assess the effectiveness of the Career Development Program and, whenever necessary, make adjustments to meet the needs of the postdoctoral community
- Stay informed and disseminate knowledge about best practices, emerging trends, and opportunities available to scientists in academia, industry, and beyond
Your Profile
- Higher academic education (ideally PhD degree) in STEM discipline or related field, experience in international scientific research (e.g., postdoc experience)
- Proven experience in program development and workshop planning – please outline experience in your letter of motivation
- Education and/or experience in academic advising and/or coaching is advantageous
- Dynamic and interactive personality with strong interpersonal skills to effectively deliver workshops
- Self-organized working style with strong organizational and conceptual skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
