POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide an effective liaison between Tuath Housing, Cork City Council, and the caretakers; to supervise the Caretaker Team in Cork and to oversee the work completed by the Caretakers to manage the use and occupation of the relevant dwellings owned by Cork City Council

GENERAL:

  1. Participate on forums/working groups/committees as required.
  2. To contribute to the effective delivery of Quality Customer Orientated Service procedures.
  3. To undertake other occasional duties which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Cork Caretaker Team to ensure targets for Health & Safety, client service and cost are achieved.
  2. Monitor the day-to-day site activities of the Caretakers, to ensure they complete their duties in terms of safety, quality, schedule, cost, and documentation.
  3. Manage the Caretakers for success by providing training, coaching, feedback, and support.
  4. Manage the Caretakers in terms of a point of contact for annual leave & cover
  5. Create a positive employee relations environment and facilitate high engagement within the Caretaker team.
  6. Provide timely feedback and review and ensure all performance issues are dealt with in a constructive, fair, and prompt manner.
  7. Ensure that all employees are treated with Equality Dignity and Respect
  8. Participate in the selection and hiring of Caretakers.
  9. To facilitate and supervise access by the City Council contractors as required.
  10. To work in conjunction with the City Council to ensure the maintenance of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and lifts and pass appropriate paperwork to the Cork City Council Manager.
  11. All other duties as assigned.
