Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with the ability to work on various projects including building, restoring, and renovating structures. The Carpenter will be responsible for executing tasks with precision and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in every project.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Canadian Journeyman Carpentry Certificate and competent in the Carpentry Trade
- Proven experience as a Journeyperson Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding construction plans.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and their proper usage.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed during projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- Experience working in commercial/industrial construction
- Ability and Skill to use heavy equipment such as zoomboom, scissor list and other access means such as scaffold.
- Valid ESC Fall Protection, First Aid Certificate, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.
- Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license. Wage based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Build frameworks and roof structures such as footings, walls, column forms, slab forms, and stair forms, parapets, roof curbs, etc… according to blueprints and specifications.
- Carry out a variety of carpentry services (including backing, blocking, framing, installation and other general carpentry.
- Assist with coordinating subcontractors taking direction from the superintendent and foreman.
- Perform other construction related duties as assigned.
- Maintaining a clean construction site.
- Maintain a daily log of tasks and hazard assessment cards.
- Safely and properly use all hand tools and power tools
- Perform construction estimating to determine project material needs and costs.
- Engage in heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations.
