EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience highly preferred
- Minimum 1-year sales experience preferred
- Minimum 1-year logistics experience preferred
- Experience conducting business over the phone highly preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Superb verbal and written communication, strong phone presence
- Proven ability to work independently and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Possess the “Hungry” and “Hunter” mentality
- Ability to problem-solve and handle high-stress environment while hitting KPI’s
- Strong people skills including ability to build relationships with carriers
- Determination and tenaciousness with strong work ethic, self-motivation, and sales drive
Responsibilities:
- Track all freight in transit to ensure on-time delivery in your territory
- Input tracking updates into the Transportation Management System from pickup to successful delivery
- Independently coordinate available carriers with customer freight
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers while expanding your carrier base through sourcing
- negotiate and quote rates with carriers in a cost-effective manner that benefits all parties
- Keep up to date in seasonal market trends
- Utilize software tools to negotiate and log market rates
- Communicate with carriers and internal departments, with a sense of urgency, to schedule pickup times, deliveries, updates, and resolve any issues
- Create carrier leads through both warm and cold calls
