Description:

POSTING SUMMARY

Coordinate and process specialized human resource processes in team environment supporting units within College of Arts & Sciences, College Administrative Services (CAS CAS). Facilitate faculty and staff recruitments; manage specialized functions such as the annual reappointment, promotion, and tenure (RPT), annual evaluations, faculty workloads, and sabbatical leaves. Interpret and communicate applicable policies and procedures to the Chairs, faculty and staff supervisors, and employees; including having a thorough understanding of the three union contracts (full-time faculty, part-time faculty, and UVMSU). Use or disclose sensitive information within the framework of UVM’s and CAS’ practices. Understand and council the Chairs, Directors, supervisors, faculty, and staff regarding work across campus with various departments, such as Payroll, Provost’s Office, HRS, and Office of International Education, to ensure CAS human resource practices are in line with university policies and procedures. Manage data and process for enrollment management, schedule of courses, and Banner submission. Initiate and manage faculty and staff hiring process for departments and programs. Participate in Central HR meetings to stay current with changing HR and Union policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field and two to four years of related experience in an administrative setting required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, (especially Excel, Word), and database applications required, and familiarity with internet resources required. Effective analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication, interpersonal, team-collaboration, and writing skills required. Attention to detail and accuracy required. Demonstrated experience and commitment to overall customer service and ability to discern and maintain confidential information required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using human resource and enrollment/student management systems, such as PeopleSoft, PeopleAdmin, and Banner highly desirable.
